Subject: [clarissa] Flash: Hart confirmed "almost pretty" by obscure
web-based critic

Surprisingly dickish Roger Holland of PopMatters.com says of the 'STTW:
The First Season' DVD:
If you're in the mood for a four-disc box set for a teenage girl,
you'd do better [in contrast to a previously reviewed title] to invest
in 'Sabrina The Teenage Witch - The First Season' (Rating: 7). I'd
thought 'Sabrina' was a spin-off from the marvelous 'Bewitched', she's
based on a comic that predates 'Bewitched'. While 'Sabrina The Teenage
Witch' lacks the timeless charm of my favourite domestic magic show,
it's actually far better than I'd expected, based on my unremitting
loathing for the stupid fake cat Salem. The writing is clever, the
cast members hold their own, and Jenna Leigh Green is an absolute joy
as the series' Plastic Heather. Fans of the almost pretty Melissa Joan
Hart will be happy to hear that the second season of 'Sabrina' will be
coming out this summer. I, however, am hoping to see Green in
'Wicked'.

According to blogger Stephen Koff of the 'Cleveland Plains Dealer'
Politics Blog:
Progressives are ramping up plans to recruit, train and support
candidates to run at the state and local levels in Ohio, if a job
search by Progressive Majority is any indication. The group is looking
for an Ohio state director to create a pipeline of candidates and
ultimately help "shift the electoral balance of power in the state."

Plus actress Beth Broderick-Paetty, long involved in social and
political issues, is on the board. Maybe you remember her as Aunt
Zelda in the TV series "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." She was the wise
one, right?

Old MJH info about her auditioning for Lyne's 'Lolita' (1997):
Lolita
This was a pretty volatile role, eventually falling into the path of
Dominque Swain. But not before Melissa Joan Hart ('Sabrina, The
Teenage Witch') auditioned, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Claire Danes were
both considered, Natalie Portman turned it down due to her feelings
about young adult actors/actresses being exposed to sex in films and
Christina Ricci [w]as turned down four times for the role.
Contains a _lot_ more info about other movies/actors, mostly based on
info from the IMDb (so, probably not everything is 100% reliable).

... John Lasseter, John Ratzenberger, Kevin James, Kyle Massey, Laila
Ali, Mark Zoradi, Masi Oka, Melissa Joan Hart, Michael Giacchino,
Ming-Na, Mo'Nique, ...
A quick glance down the picture gallery revealed four shots of Melissa,
3 full-length, one waist-up, about halfway down the page; she's wearing
a simple, dark blue (denim?) dress, with a red handbag and jewelry. She
didn't appear to be "with" anyone in the photographs (i.e., no hubby or
rugrat, nor any other celeb that I could tell).

Subject: [clarissa] MJH in Animal Planet special?
Message-ID: <467F5271.4040107@obkb.com>
Apparently Animal Planet (U.S. cable channel) aired a special last Thu
(Jun 21st, 8pm ET) called 'Animal Icons: Primetime Pets' which the 'New
York Times' described as:
"A tribute to the animal stars that have at times upstaged their human
counterparts on the small screen, who include Susan Olsen, Clint
Howard, Kelsey Grammer and Melissa Joan Hart."
So I guess that means she appears in it. Not sure if she was
interviewed or just appears in clips from STTW. Searching the online TV
listings didn't turn up any future airings.

Google News alerted me to the following item at the Celebrity Baby Blog:
Mason Wilkerson curses and jokes around with mom
By Raye, CBB Contributor
Wiseguy Mason Wilkerson, 17 months, has quite the mouth on him.
Melissa Joan Hart says her son's first words weren't the traditional
"mama" or "dada."
I think [his first words] were 'oh, s--t!'
Mason has since learned the aforementioned pronouns for his parents,
but doesn't always use them correctly.
He calls me 'Daddy,' which really ticks me off, and every time he says
it, he rolls his eyes, like, 'Haha, I gotcha.'
The trickster, who loves sharks and to go "ow-sigh" to swim and play
with his bubble-blowing lawn mover, is a fan of Starbucks runs too.
If [husband Mark Wilkerson and I] go to Starbucks, the straw and
lid keep him busy.
