LOS ANGELES, April 20 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Melissa Joan Hart says she
almost posed for Playboy in an effort to change her squeaky clean image.
The 33-year-old mother of two is best known for her work in family fare
like "Clarissa Explains it All" and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." She
says she was courted by Playboy a decade ago after she appeared in a
sexy cover shot for Maxim magazine.
"They came around and offered me a million dollars, which I had to
seriously consider," Hart told the nypost.com, blog PopWrap.
"Initially it's like, 'Yea, I'll take my clothes off for a million
bucks, are you kidding?' It's the big question: what will you do for a
million dollars? But I decided that because of the reaction I got from
Maxim I wasn't comfortable -- and my brother had that cover shoved in
his face for months. That made me say no."
Hart said she relished the chance to play something other than a good
girl in her upcoming TV movie "My Fake Fiance."
"I love the idea of playing people who know they're doing something
wrong," she said. "A flawed person. And I never really get to play that
type of role since I'm always the good girl. The girl next door. It's a
nice challenge and I'm trying to move into that more. But what
frustrates me is that I'm an actor, I'm supposed to be able to put on
different faces, but Hollywood doesn't see me that way. To them, I'm
Sabrina and that's it. My success is my own worst enemy."
