Youth program strives to be self-sufficient

ADELANTO - [...] Like many charities, The Neel Center could not survive
without community support, but it strives to pay its own way, one of
many values the center teaches its youth.

Essentially, The Neel Center is a leadership program for artists. New
members must first take a class in manners and etiquette because later
they gain experience building relationships and working with other artists.

The center holds art shows periodically to sell students' art as well as
art donated from celebrities.

Bill Cosby sent a few watercolors he painted. Yoko Ono donated a
favorite picture of John Lennon. Rosie O'Donnell contributed some sketches.

They have received art from Dick Clark, Melissa Joan Hart and others.
Michael Jordan rarely gives out his signature, but he has donated twice
to The Neel Center.
